Landforms

TermDefinition
geography The study of Earth and the way people, plants, and animals use it.
plain A large area of flat land.
plateau A large area of flat land that is raised high above the land around it.
landforms The shape of the surface of the land.
region An area with common features that set it apart from other areas.
climate A place's weather over a long period of time.
adapt To change in order to make useful.
island A body of land that is completely surrounded by water and is smaller than a continent
natural resource A thing found in nature that people use.
mineral A thing found in the earth that is not a plant or an animal.
Great Plains Stretch from North Dakota all the way to Texas
Colorado Plateau Can be found in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah
Rocky Mountains They stretch from New Mexico past Montana
Atlantic Ocean Borders the United States on the east coast.
penninsula Land that has water on three sides.
Coast Land next to the ocean.
