Landforms
| Term | Definition |

| geography | The study of Earth and the way people, plants, and animals use it. |
| plain | A large area of flat land. |
| plateau | A large area of flat land that is raised high above the land around it. |
| landforms | The shape of the surface of the land. |
| region | An area with common features that set it apart from other areas. |
| climate | A place's weather over a long period of time. |
| adapt | To change in order to make useful. |
| island | A body of land that is completely surrounded by water and is smaller than a continent |
| natural resource | A thing found in nature that people use. |
| mineral | A thing found in the earth that is not a plant or an animal. |
| Great Plains | Stretch from North Dakota all the way to Texas |
| Colorado Plateau | Can be found in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah |
| Rocky Mountains | They stretch from New Mexico past Montana |
| Atlantic Ocean | Borders the United States on the east coast. |
| penninsula | Land that has water on three sides. |
| Coast | Land next to the ocean. |
