Chapter one World Geography Term Definition

Elevation The height of landforms
Political Maps shows boundaries and locations of political units
Human-made determined by humans rather than by nature
Thematic Maps a map that emphasizes a single idea or particular type of information about the area
Qualitative Maps a map that uses colors, symbols, lines, or dots to show information related to a specific idea
Flow-line Maps a map that illustrates the movement of people, animals, goods, and ideas
Site refers to the specific location of a place including it's physical setting
