Greece Government

Chapter 26

TermDefinition
Monarchy When there is only 1 ruler, or king with all the power.
Oligarchy When there is a group of people with all the power, and use the power to benefit themselves.
Tyranny When there is one ruler who stole the power from someone else, and mostly uses it for people, but sometimes for themselves.
Democracy When all the people can vote, and agree on laws and proclamations.
city-state An ancient Greek city woth it's own army, money, laws, and forms of govenment.
citizen A person that lives in a city-state.
aristocrat A very wealthy person, in land or money, and demands for the king's power.
assembly A group of free male citizens in a democracy government that come up with solutions for a problem and ask for supporters.
