Equator *An imaginary line circling half way between the northern and southern pole -*divided the earth in northern and Southern Hemisphere 0' latitude
North Pole *northern end of the earths axis
South Pole *South end of the earths axis
Latitude *distance north or south of the equator *measures in degrees *measures by a set of imaginary lines that run east to west around the earth

Longitude *Distance east or west of the prime meridians Long longitude flats east to west
Meridians Distance east or west of the prime meridian
Prime Meridian An imaginary line (longitude) line circling earth half way from the north to south poles Divides the earth into the South Pole Divides the earth in to eastern and western hemispheres 180* longitude Opposite sides of the Prime Meridian
