In the 1850's, what was the method of transportation used to travel from the east to west coast? Covered wagons, boat around south america, ride horses, stage coach, and by foot.
How did the Pony Express operate? It brought mail from California to Missouri in ten days. It was like a 2,000 mile relay race. They used young boys to deliver the mail.
Who invented the telegraph and what was it used for? Samuel Morse invented the telegraph . He used a system called Morse code. He sent a series of beeps to another place. This phased out the pony express.
What was the significance of Promontory Point, Utah? To celebrate where the transcontinental railroad tracks met. A golden spike was placed.
Which railroad team had to work in the mountains? Central.
Which railroad team used Irish Immigrants? Union.
Which railroad team used Immigrants? Union and Central.
Did the central team use Chinese Immigrants? yes.
Which team had more trees? Central or Union? Union.
