11754 6th-The Globe

The Globe

Aerial Photographs Photographs or pictures produced(taken) by satellites.
Globe A globe is round like the earth and lets you see the entire surface. It is like looking at teh earth from space.
Map It is flat and shows you the different parts of the earth.
Lines of Longitude They are also called "meridians" they run north to south on the globe.
Prime Meridian It is the center line or starting point that runs north to south. It is zero degrees.
Lines of Longitude They run north to south and measure the distance around the earth east to west. But the lines run north to south.
Lines of Latitude They are also called "parallels". They are like the rungs on a ladder which go up and down. The lines runs east to west on the globe. They run across the globe sideways.
Equator A line of Latitude. The middle of the earth at 0 degrees.
What are the seven continents? North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica
Name the different hempsispheres Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western.
