fossil- | the trace or imprint of a plant or animal that has been preserved in rock |
nomad- | people who move from place to place with the seasons in search of food |
technology- | tools and methods use to help humans perform tasks |
domesticate- | to tame animals and plants for human use |
specialization- | the development of different kinds of jobs |
agriculture- | the raising of crops and livestock for food or for other products that are useful to humans |
migration- | movement of people from one place to another |
Paleolithic Era- | Old Stone Age; era which tools were first developed |
Neolithic Era- | New Stone Age |
civilization- | complex society with cities, organized government, art, religion, class divisions, and a writing system |
excavate- | the act of digging |
culture- | beliefs, customs, practices, and behavior of a particular nation or group of people |
hunter-gatherer- | early humans that survived by hunting small animals and gathering plants |
ice age- | a period of time during which surface temperatures dropped significantly and huge ice sheets spread out over the world |
