India Vocabulary

Civilization A form of human culture in which some people live in cities, there is some form of writing, and there are people who are skilled at using science and technology.
Neolithic Revolution The time in history when people began to change from hunters and gathers to producers of food.
Physical Region Is an area that shares landforms, climate, and/or plant and animal life and has physical characteristics that are different from those areas outside the region.
Cultural Region Is an area where people share common cultural characteristics, such as beliefs, foods, language, ways of dress, and style of homes.
Globe It is a round three-dimensional map that represents the entire Earth.
Diffusion The spread of new ideas, practices, and products from one place to another.
Representative The electing of people who will represent you and make decisions for you.
Footprint The change that humans make on the environment.
Natural Resources Materials found in nature, such as mineral deposits, soil, water, and oil reserves.
Specialization Concentrating on producing whatever one makes best.
Traditional Economy Oldest type of economy where people simply do whatever their ancestors did for a living.
Export Goods and services sold by producers in one country to buyers in other countries.
