QuestionAnswer
HEMISPHERE Each half of earth.
KEY The feature on a map that explains the symbols,colors, and lines used on the map
SCALE BAR The feature on a map that tells how a measured space on a map relates to the actual distance on earth.
COMPASS ROSE The feature on a map that shows direction.
MAP PROJECTION One of several systems used to represent the round earth on a flat map
SCALE The relationship between distances on the map and on earth.
ELEVATION The measurement of how much is above or below sea level a place is.
RELIEF The distance between the elevation of one feature and the elevation of another feature near it.
THEMATIC MAP A map that shows specialized information.
TECHNOLOGY Any way that scientific discoveries are applied to practical use.
REMOTE SENSING The method of getting information from far away,such as deep below the ground.
