TermDefinition
Hemispere Each half of the Earth.
Scale Bar A measured space on the map corresponds to actual distances on Earth.
Compassrose The Feature on a map that shows direction.
Map Projection One of several systems used to represent the round Earth on a flat map.
Scale The relationship between distances on the map and on Earth.
Elevation The measurement of how much above or below sea level.
Relief The difference between the elevation of one feature and the elevation oh another feature near it.
Thematic Map A map that shows specialized information.
Technology Any way that scientific discoveries are applied to.
Remote Sensing The method of getting information from far away.
Key The feature on a map that explains the symbols,colors,and lines used on the map.
