Social studies cards

QuestionAnswer
Geography The study of the physical features of the Earth and its atmosphere.
Line of Latitude An angle which measures from 0 degrees to 90 degrees.
Parallel Lines that never intersect.
Degree The amount, level, or extent to which something happens or is present.
Equator An imaginary line that is drawn around the earth equally distant from both poles.
Lines of Longitude Meridians run between the North and South Poles.
Meridian A circle of constant longitude passing through a given place on the Earth's surface.
Prime Meridian A planets Meridian adopted as the zero of longitude.
Map Title The title of a map obviously.
Locator A device or system used to find something.
Map Scale Refers to the relationship between distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground.
Compass Rose A circle showing the principal directions printed on a map or chart.
Cardinal Directions North, South, East, and West!
Map key Shows what on a map means what.
Intermediate Directions North East, North West, South East, and South west!
