| Absolute Location | The term Geographers use to describe the exact location of a place. |
| Relative location | The location of a place compared to another place. |
| Physical Map | A map that highlights many of the natural features of a place, such as mountains, rivers, and lakes, by using color and shading. |
| Longitude | The measure of distance east and west from the prime meridian. |
| Latitude | The measure of distance north and south from the equator. |
| Escarpment | A steep cliff. |
| Drought | Long periods in which rain falls at a much lower rate than usual and may cause severe damage to crops. |
| Erosion | Gradual wearing away of something, such as soil. |
| Landforms | Shapes and types of land. |
| Region | Area of the world that has similar, unifying characteristics |
| Geography | Study of Earth |
| Physical Geography | The study of the land and it's features. |
| Human Geography | Learning about people and their ways. |
| Climate | The average weather of a place over a period of 20 - 30 years. |
| Vegetation | Plant life that grows in an area. |
