Today you might see an electronic map called a GPS
Our country is split into smaller pieces called states
The Pacific Ocean touches North America on the West
The Atlantic Ocean touches North America on the East

To study our Earth we use maps
Map Legend explains what each symbol and shape stands for on the map
The United States of America has 50 states
The Mississippi River is located South of Virginia
The Appalachain Mountains run through Virginia
The two mountain ranges that are important to remember are Appalachain and Rocky Mountains
The Rocky Mountains are located in the western part of the US
The Nile River is located in Egypt
A large group of lakes on a map are called the Great Lake
The Great Lakes are located in The Northern Part of the United States
The Huang He River is located in China
There are 3 rivers in the US that are important to remember they James, Mississippi, and the Rio Grande
Virginia has a river running through it called the James River
The Rio Grande River is located in the southwestern part of the united states
There are 2 World rivers that are important to know the Huang He River and the Nile River
