Anterior of Pituitary Gland Produces growth hormone (GH), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and prolactin
Posterior of Pituitary Gland Produces oxytocin & vasopressin aka antidiuretic hormone (ADH)
Hypothalamus Serves as a bridge between the nervous system & the hormonal system
Pineal Gland Maintains circadian rhythms & sleep-awake patterns
Thyroid Gland Produces thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3) & calcitonin
Parathyroid Gland Secretes parathyroid hormone (PTH), which maintains appropriate calcium levels in the body
Thymus Gland Secretes humoral factors necessary in maintaining the immune system
Adrenal Gland The medulla region secretes epinephrine & norepinephrine,; the cortex region secretes glucorticoid hormones
Pancreas Produces & secretes hormones from the islets of Langerhans; alpha cells produce glucagon & beta cells produce insulin
Ovaries Secrete estrogen & progesterone
Testes Secrete testosterone
