TermDefinition
Alliance A partnership; system in which countries agree to defend each other or to advance common causes
Boycott To refuse to buy items in order to show disapproval or force acceptance of one’s terms
Loyalist American colonist who remained loyal to Britain and opposed the war for independence
Militia A military force made up of ordinary citizens
Minutemen During revolutionary era, civilian sworn to be ready to fight with only one minute’s notice
Patriot American colonist who favored American Independence
Petition A formal request
Propaganda Ideas or information intentionally spread to harm or help a cause
Rebellion Open defiance of authority
Repeal To cancel an act or law
Resolution Official expression of opinion by a group
Revenue Incoming money from taxes or other sources.
