Vietnam War a conflict during the Cold War in which the U.S. sent troops to stop the spread of communism in Vietnam; war ended in a stalemate and eventually a loss for the U.S.

Ho Chi Minh Trail trail between North Vietnam and South Vietnam that Ho Chi Minh used to send troops and supplies to the Vietcong; kept communist forces strong
Tet Offensive launched by the Vietcong on Tet; took allied forces by surprise; showed the strength of the communist forces
Hawks vs. Doves hawks = want war; doves = want peace
