What were two actions Henry took? Got ideas from Gregory and ignored Pope ideas.
How did Popes try to establish authority over kings? By the Magna Carta.
How did a series of conflicts leave their mark on Europe in the Middle Ages? Because of how the pope thought he had power over all kings.
Who lead each side in the Battle of Hastings? William and Hrold lead it.
What were two important limits on the Kings power in the Magna Carta? He can't take taxes and that can't take any one to jail before judging .
How did the Norman Conquest set in motion a chain of events that changed English rule and law? The crusades were the thing that changed it.
What were the two languages of law and culture? French and Latin
Who did Edward the Confessor promise the crown to? He promised it to William duke of Normandy.
Who did William defeat? He invaded England and defeated King Harold and took the crown.
