Scientific Revolution

TermDefinition
rationalism a belief in reason and logic as the primary paths to knowledge
Geocentric Theory a theory that Earth is the center of the solar system or the universe. Geo is Greek for "earth. "
orbit the path on which one object circles another
Heliocentric/Copernican theory a theory that places the sun at the center of the solar system with the planets, including Earth, revolving around it. Helio is Greek for "sun."
projectile something that is thrown or shot.
mass a measure of the amount of matter in an object
hypothesis an idea or assumption to be tested in an experiment
data information, produced by the experiment and records the results.
microscope an instrument used to make very small objects visible
barometer A barometer measures changes in the pressure of the atmosphere.
thermometer A glass tube used to measure temperature.
