| rationalism | a belief in reason and logic as the primary paths to knowledge |
| Geocentric Theory | a theory that Earth is the center of the solar system or the universe. Geo is Greek for "earth. " |
| orbit | the path on which one object circles another |
| Heliocentric/Copernican theory | a theory that places the sun at the center of the solar system with the planets, including Earth, revolving around it. Helio is Greek for "sun." |
| projectile | something that is thrown or shot. |
| mass | a measure of the amount of matter in an object |
| hypothesis | an idea or assumption to be tested in an experiment |
| data | information, produced by the experiment and records the results. |
| microscope | an instrument used to make very small objects visible |
| barometer | A barometer measures changes in the pressure of the atmosphere. |
| thermometer | A glass tube used to measure temperature. |
