| Great Wagon Road | Immigrants and settlers followed this Native American trail west with there wagons |
| Tuscarora War | Fighting 1711 between settlers in North Carolina and Tuscarora Native Americans |
| Plantations | A large farm |
| Charter | An official paper in which certain rights are given by a government to a person, group, or business |
| Proprietary Colony | A colony owned and ruled by one person who was chosen by the King or Queen |
| Cash Crops | A crop that people grow to sell |
