trench warfare war fought from large trenches dug into the ground
Eastern Front area of fighting between Germany and Russia
unrestricted submarine warfare Germany's policy of sinking all ships that that sailed near their enemy, Britain, without warning. They did this with their submarines called U-Boats
propaganda media designed to persuade people to join the the war effort.
armistice agreement to stop fighting
Treaty of Versailles treaty signed by the Allied Powers and Germany; formerly set peace terms but placed blame for WW1 on Germany.
