Governor The head of the executive branch of the state government
Lieutenant Governor An elected official who serves as a deputy to the governor
Veto to refuse to sign a bill
Bill A proposed law
General Assembly The legislature of the state of Georgia; consists of a senate and a house of representatives
Checks and Balances A system that provides each branch of government some power that controls or prevents some actions of the other two branches
Felony a serious crime such as murder or burglary punishable by a year or more in prison, a fine of a least $1,000 or both
Truancy Failure to attend school
Juveniles a citizen under the age of 17
