What was Prohibition? The banning of the sale, manufacture, transportation, and consumption of alcohol.

What was the Harlem Renaissance? A rebirth/explosion of African American culture - it included literature, music, and the arts.

What was the Red Scare? When many Americans feared that communism was going to spread to the United States.

What was the purpose of quota laws? To place numerical limitations on how many immigrants would be allowed entry into the United States.

What were some reasons why Prohibition was a good idea? It would prevent violence, accidents, and financial irresponsibility.
What were some reasons why Prohibition was a bad idea? Many people would protest, people would obtain alcohol illegally (organized crime), it would hurt businesses that depended on the sale of alcohol.
