Resources and Immigration

| Nonrenewable Resource | Cannot be replaced once used. |
| Renewable Resource | Regenerated or replacement by the environment. |
| Geothermal Energy | Produced from the Earth's internal heat. |
| Primary Economic Activities | Rely directly on natural resources. Exs: farming, mining, fishing/ hunting etc. |
| Secondary Economic Activities | People use raw materials to produce new products of greater value. Exs: pressing wheat to make flour, manufacturing |
| Tertiary Economic Activities | Do not directly gather or process raw materials- instead they pursue activities that serve others. Exs: doctors, salespeople, police, etc. |
| Quaternary Economic Activities | Acquisition, processing, and sharing of information. Exs: education, government, research, lawyers, etc. |
| Scarcity | We have an unlimited amount of needs and wants, but there is a limited amount of resources. |
