TermDefinition
colony a body of people who settle in a new country but who are ruled by the parent country
apprentice one who learns a trade under the guidance of a master
sovereign a ruler
archives a place in which public or historical records, charters, and documents are stored and presesrved
nation a people inhabiting a country under the same government
democracy a government in which citizens hold political power
federal system a government in which power is divided between national and state government
dictator a leader who rules a country with absolute power, usually by force
manufacturing the making of goods either by hand or machine
agriculture the science of producing crops (plants grown for use by people) and the raising of livestock (animals raised for food or use)
