What is Oligarchy? Ruled by a select few that were wealthy or owned lots of land.
What is Aristocracy? Old families ruled.
What is Monarchy? Ruled by a king or queen. Most Greek city-states started out as monarchies and later on changed
What is Tyranny? Someone that takes power in an illegal way, a leader that might have helped the poor.
What is Indirect Democracy? Government by the citizens. Citizens have the power and make political decisions. Citizens vote for officials to vote for laws
What is Direct Democracy? Government by the citizens. Citizens have the power and make political decisions. Citizens vote for everything
Fact about Athens: They valued education.
Fact about Sparta: They had great military.
