| rainforest | home to the largest variety of plant and animal species on the planet; known as "lungs of the earth". |
| lumber | wood that has been cut into planks for commercial construction use. |
| arable | land that is good for farming. |
| commodities | any raw material or agricultural product that is bought and sold; examples in Latin America include oranges, papayas, sugarcane, soybeans, and timber. |
