| Term | Definition |

| Cell | The intersection of a column and a row in a table or worksheet. |
| Content Control | A special place holder designed to contain a specific type of text, such as a date or the page number. |
| Footer | Text that is printed at the bottom of each page. |
| Gridline | The lines in a table that form the rows and columns. |
| Header | Text that is printed at the top of each page. |
| Orphan | The last line of a paragraph at the top of a page. |
| Page Break | The place where one page ends and another begins. |
| Property | Identifying information about a file that is saved along with the file, such as the author's name and the date the file was created. |
| Section | A part of a document where you can apply a layout, headers and footer, page numbers, margins, orientation, and other formatting features different from the rest if the document. |
| Sort | To arrange a list of words or numbers in ascending or descending order. |
| Table | An arrangement of text or numbers in rows an columns, similar to a spreadsheet. |
| Widow | The first line of a paragraph at the bottom of a page. |
