European History Vocabulary from CRCT Prep blue book

Age of Exploration In the fifteenth century many Europeans were trying to find ocean routes to Africa and Asia.
Prince Henry the Navigator He and his scientists that he hired made discoveries that helped make long voyages possible, and his sailors explored the coast of Africa, and opened the way for future journeys. He also helped Portugal build Europe's first good navy.
Economic Reasons for Exploration Europeans wanted new resources, such as natural resources, for their market. (One of the three G's- Gold)
Colony A group of people living in a new territory with ties to a distant state.
Colonists A person who settles in an area.
Glory as a reason for Exploration Europeans explored because of Glory which means that they thought claiming new territories would make countries more powerful.
