| Aqueduct | A water system that brings clean water into the city, and dirty water out of the city. |
| Philosophy | What people believe. Thinking about thinking. (Why is the sky blue) (Why is water wet) |
| Renaissance | Rebirth of Greek and Roman ideas. |
| Democracy | Ruling of the people. |
| Autocracy | The ruling of one person. |
| City- State | A city that has enough power to be a country. (Athens) (Sparta) |
| Oligarchy | Ruled by a few, often military. |
| Treason | Going against the government. |
| Republic | Don't vote on every single issue. They vote on someone who then makes decisions about things, such as streetlights so that we do not have to vote on it. |
