| Stonewall Jackson | Confederate general, lost arm in battle, gained nickname when he stood in front of attacking Union troops through a battle |
| Shiloh | Battle - April 6th to April 7th, 1862 in Tennessee, Union victory, 23,756 casualties, legacy: surprise attack on Union |
