Duckboards boards laid as a track or floor over wet or muddy ground
Rats a long-tailed rodents distinguished from the mouse by being larger
No man’s land an area between opposing armies, over which no control has been established
Infantry soldiers or military units that fight on foot, in modern times typically with rifles, machine guns, grenades, mortars, etc., as weapons
Gas Mask a mask like device attached to a component that filters the air inhaled by the wearer through charcoal and chemicals to protect the face and lungs against noxious gases and fumes
Dead in the middle where the bodies of the fallen soldiers are lying the middle of the trench
Support troops the second line of soldiers;the highest rankings fought there
Reinforcement the act of reinforcing or strengthening
Western front the fighting zone in France and Flanders, where the British, French, Belgian and the American armies faced Germany
