TermDefinition
Christianity A very popular religion that people don’t believe in Jesus and God.
baptize A ritual by which a person is welcomed into a religion.
Jesus Jesus was a wonderful man who was born in six B.C.E. A man who was jealous of Jesus, hung him from a cross, but Jesus came back to Earth the next day. He really wasn't dead. His soul came down to Earth and he helped people in need.
disciple A person who helps spread the religious teachings of another.
Constantine A man who favored God over all of the other people.
parable A simple story that explains a moral or religious lesson.
Judea A man who always disobeyed the Roman rule.
crucify A really bad death.
prefect A high official in ancient Rome.
New Testament A very old chapter from the Bible.
blasphemy A disrespectful act or statement against God.
gospels An account of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
missionary Someone who tries to persuade others to believe in his or her religious teachings.
Messiah A savior that many Jews believed had been promised by God.
