Government where a king, queen, or emperor has supreme power Monarchy
Government that is run by the people who live under it Deomcracy
Government in which citizens elect representatives to speak for them Republic

Led the army in the war with England, He was the first president of the United States, He is known as the father of our country George Washington
He was an inventor, writer, and publisher, He worked on BOTH the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution Benjamin Franklin
He helped write the Declaration of Independence, He became the third president of the United States Thomas Jefferson
He wrote a large part of the Constitution, He became the 4th president of the United States James Madison
What important United States document can be divided into 3 parts Declaration of Indepenedence
This part of the Declaration of Independence lists complaints the colonies had against the king Part II
Tells the world the colonies are declaring independence and no longer a part of England Part III
