What is Boycott? A group of people who decided to stop buying items.
Who started the Boycott? Son of Liberty
What did they Boycott? The Boycott buying paper products.
When did the Stamp Act take place? 1765
When did the Townshend Act take place? 1769
The Townshend Act imposed duties on what items? glass, lead, paper, paint, and tea
Why did Britain place taxes on these items? These goods were highly sought after
How did the colonists get around to get these items? They smuggled them.
How did parliament handle the colonists reaction? They repealed all except tax on tea
What year did the parliament repeal the Townshend Act? 1770
What happened to cause the parliament of the reconsider the Tea Act? The Boston Massacre
How did the Boston Massacre begin? an argument between an wig apprentice and a British soldier
What did the colonists do? they threw snowballs with rocks and sticks inside of them
What did the British do in return? they fired shots into the crowd
Who was blamed? 3 soldiers were found guilty
Where were they tried? Lexington
