Why did the puritans come to NE? To escape religious persecution.
What is the cause of King Phillip's war? New Englanders took some Native Americans land and killed villagers.
What are the four colonies that were part of the Middle region? New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware.
What were NY and NJ known for as colonies? trade, self-government and religious tolerance.
What are two unique things about Pennsylvania? Religious freedom & good treatment of natives.
What are the 5 colonies that were part of the Southern region? Georgia, N&S Carolina, Virginia, & Maryland.
How is a plantation like a small village? They have everything villages have including labor slaves.
What is a special reason that Georgia was formed? Safe place for English debtors rather than prison
What are three cash crops of the southern colonies? tobacco, rice, indigo
Why did young people become apprentices? learn a trade or a skill
why did England oppose new trade laws and taxes on the colonists in the 1600s because it was unfair
explain why the colonists on the road were on the road to self gov't they made laws for their own benefit
