| Parliament | the part of the British government in which members make laws for the British people |
| Patriot | a colonist who was against British rule |
| quarter | to provide or pay for housing |
| repeal | to undo or pay for housing |
| tariff | a tax on goods brought into a country |
| tax | money that is paid by people to run the country |
| treason | working against one's own government |
