This stack was made to help me study for my 13 Colonies Exam

New England Colonies: Massachusetts Leaders: John Carver He was the first to sign the Mayflower Compact. He was also the first governor of Massachusetts.
William Bradford He signed the Mayflower Compact. Was the governor of the Plymouth Colony for over 5 years.
John Winthrop Was a leading figure in the Massachusetts Colony. Governor for 12 years.
People: Anne Hutchinson Puritan spiritual advisor. Development of religious freedom in the colonies.
Samoset First native to make contact with the English settlers.
Squanto Assisted the pilgrims through their first winter. Was in England to become a guide and servant. Returned to the new world with John Smith.
Religion Puritans came from america to practice religious freedom. In the colonies puritans made their own laws.
Industry Cattle
Governemnt Was heavily influenced by religion. Was a representative colony.
New Hampshire: Leaders: John Mason He re-chartered this land and named it New Hampshire.
Ferdinando Gorges Founded Maine, re-chartered land.
Reasons Founded Was founded when they were given a land grant.
Industry Fish, Ships, Lumber, Beer. Founded for profit not religion
Rhode Island: Leaders: Roger Williams Puritan Dissident, Supported religious freedom. His views clashed with John Winthrop's and he was banned he left and started Rhode Island.
