How did they hold onto their power? Through a standing army.
Where did they move their capital? Baghdad, because of the Silk Road.
How many people live there? Over 900,000
Name three Abbasid Advancements Learning, Calligraphy, and algebra
Why did the Abbasids lose Egypt? They were distracted by their Golden Age, so the banditry increased, and to gain the money, they heightened taxes. The Fatimids disliked this, so they drove the Abbasids out of Egypt.
Who conquered the rest of the Abbasid Empire? The Seljuk Turks, and they converted to Islam, and let old Abbasid ruler stay in rule.
Who ended the Seljuk Turk empire? The Mongols.
