What can the government not do because of the First Amendment? a)...try to get you to support a religion, or stop you from being part of a religion you chose. b)...keep you from expressing or publishing your ideas c)...stop you from meeting peacefully for a demonstration to ask the government to change something.
What are the rights of the second amendment? What can the government not do? a)The right to bear Arms. b)Congress can't stop people from buying and owning weapons so they can defend the country.
What are the rights in the third amendment? what can the government not do? a) Right to say no to letting a soldier stay in your house. b)Cant force people to keep soldiers in their houses, except if a war breaks out, and then only if the Congress passes it.
What are the rights of the fourth amendment? a)Right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects.
What can the government not due because of the fourth amendment? Government cannot search you or your private property (e.g. your house, papers)unless they can convince a judge that they have a reasonable amount of evidence linking you to a crime.
What are the rights of the Fifth Amendment? a)Cannot be tried twice for the same crime. b)Cannot be forced to act as a witness against yourself c)Your property cannot be taken without "due process" of the law.
What can the government not do because of the fifth amendment? a)...put you on trail for a serious crime without a special jury concluding that there is enough evidence to justify a trial. b)..try you twice for the exact same crime if they have already found you not guilty.
What else can the government not due because of the fifth amendment? c)...force you to testify against yourself. d)...take away your life,freedom, or property in an unfair manner. e)...take your private property unless the government pays you fairly for it.
What are the rights of the sixth amendment? a)Speedy trial b)public trial by an impartial jury. c)assistance of counsel in their defense/lawyer.
What are the rights of the seventh amendment? a)A jury trial in suits involving property valued above $20.00.
What are the rights of the eighth amendment? a)Protects citizens from excessive bail or fines. b)freedom from cruel and unusual punishments.
What is the right of the ninth amendment? a)If a right is not specifically listed in the constitution, it does not mean that the right is denied to the people.
What is the right of the tenth amendment? a)The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution are reserved to the states or to the people.
What can the government not do because of the eighth amendment? a)The government cannot make a person pay a ridiculous amount of money as a punishment (fines) or to get out of jail until their trail comes up (bail). b)The government also cannot punish those who are guilty in unusually cruel ways.
