Lords/Nobles People of high rank who received land in exchange for their loyalty to the King
Feudal Contract The unwritten rules that determined the relationship between a lord and his vassal
Priest A person who performs religious ceremonies
Monk A man who has taken a solemn vow to devote his life to prayer and service in a monastery
Monastery A place where communities of monks live lives of devotion to God in isolation from the outside world
Convent A place where communities of nuns live
Peace of God Church decree that forbade knights to pillage church property and extended protection to all noncombatants in society
