New England Colonies Very strong church. Life was very hard. Soil was tough and farming. Cold, long, and tough winters.
Middle Colonies Soil more fertile. Milder winters. Cash Crops and 3 Social Class.
Southern Colonies Slavery was important and plantations were common. Warm Climate.
Child Life ( Not Matching ) Very strict punishment. No messing around or they will be punished. Eat supper early so they can finish there chores. They played games for fun such as : Puzzles, Hoops, Kite Flying, Jump Rope, Leap Frog
Clothes Heavy and made out of linen and wool.
Education 50+ people in the town made a school and 100+ people in the town meant a Grammar school. Ages 12-13 for 6-7 years
Hornbook A book for studying. It had “ pages ” and a handle and they would bring it to school
Religion Baptists, Roman Catholics, Puritans, Quakers, Anglicans, Protestants.
The Great Awakening Powerful preachers to have people re-focus on God and religion. It had them examine there lives and how they were living.
Used for Money Trade: Crops or other Goods Furs Wampum/ Shells ( Indian Used ) Building things ( Nails and Wood )
Navigational Acts Only use of the ship and crew from England
Mercantilism They only existed because of the Mother Country. There materials would all go to the Mother country to make products.
Triangle Trade ( Diagram for this ) Colonies ----- Rum/Cloth to Africa -----Slaves to the West Indies----molasses and money to the colonies

Food they Normally Eat They didn’t eat lunch they only ate Supper which was a mid-day meal. They ate meat, vegetables, fruit, and dairy products.

Why was the money System not a good system It was hard to determine the value of things.

Most important Jobs that help us survive. Farmer - Help us grow/harvest crops. Nurse or Doctor - Help us stay healthy. Help us with diseases. Teachers - Help us learn to read and write and how to survive. Pastor- Help us learn our religion and Christianity to help us survive in the sinful world.
More Important Jobs Pewter caster-Small Jars/Castings-BlackSmith-Create horseshoes and other metal things for out town to use in our survival. Carpenter-A person who makes and repairs wooden structures and buildings
More More important Jobs Merchant - To sell all of our goods and get money for out town from our sold goods. Socialists - To help have peace with each other Governor - Help us make a thriving government :)
