1.5:How did the early Americans that settled into the Northwest Coast use their environment to change the way they lived? The rivers and lakes there gave a great abundance of food within the Northwest.
1.5:How did trees around the Northwest Coast affect the early Americans living there? The E. A. used cut down trees to make bark striped crafts and log houses.
1.6:What was the environment like in California when the First Americans came here? In California, there were mountain ranges, the coast, and deserts.
1.6:What types of materials did American Indians in California use to create helpful items and tools? Californian E.A. used animal hides and skins to create tools and other things.
1.7:In the Great Basin, how did the desert areas affect the way American Indians lived in that area? The desert areas made the people in them constantly have to travel, looking for food and water.
1.7:What was the food and water like in the Great Basin, and how much of it was there? The supply of food and water was very low and the water came from cacti and food was mainly plants, with snakes and bugs for treats.
1.8:Where would people living among the Plateau put their houses? The people in the Plateau would build homes near rivers.
1.8:What were the homes like in Plateau regions? The Plateau homes were partially underground with a frame of logs and other plants surrounded around to make a home.
