1.2 What happened about 30,000 years ago during the most recent ice age? Ocean levels dropped 200 feet and exposed a land bridge between Asia and North America called Beringia.
1.2 Why did the american Indians follow Beringia? Some native americans follow food sources like mammoths on land. Some followed the food source by fishing along the coast.
1.3 What is included in an environment? An environment includes land, animals,plants, and water.
1.3 What did american Indians use natural resources for? They used natural resources for food, clothing, and shelter.
1.1 How long ago did Europeans come to North America? A little more than 500 years ago Europeans came to North America.
1.1 What did scientists study to learn about the american Indians? They used artifacts like bones,tools made stone or metal, pottery, and written records.
1.3 How did the first Americans adapt to the environment during winter and summer? During winter they hunted sea mammals, made clothes from animal skin, and made iglus to live in. During summer they ate plants raised crops, and made villages.
1.4 How did american Indians use the land? They set fires to clear the land to grow berries. They also made ditches to have water.
1.4 What did American Indians believe about spirits? They believed that everything in nature had a spirit,and that people had to maintain the balance.
1.4 How did they express their beliefs for spirits? Southwest farmers made corn part of every ceremony. Hunters, after they killed an animal, gave thanks.
