| pharaoh | Name for the ruler of Egypt |
| theocracy | When a god is also a king. |
| polytheism | Belief in many gods. |
| afterlife | Life after death |
| mummification | Process of preparing the body for burial. |
| pyramids | Tom for the Pharaoh. |
| obelisk | A tall four-sided pillar that is pointed at the top, was placed outside temples with hieroglyphics on the sides. |
| sphinx | A statue of an imaginary creature with a body of a lion and a head of another animal or human. |
| hieroglyphics | Picture writing used to keep records and record Egyptian history. |
| papyrus | a paper like materiel used to write on by the Egyptians. |
