Social Gospel | Aimed to improve the lives of the poor.The most important concerns of the social gospel movement were labor reforms, such as abolishing child labor. Some reformers inspired by the movement opened settlement houses. |
Jane Addams | Founded Chicago’s Hull House in 1889 with Ellen Gates Starr. |
Hull House | Became a model for other settlement houses. |

Steerage | The part of a ship providing accommodations for passengers with the cheapest tickets. |

Ticket Office | An office or kiosk where tickets are sold, especially for entertainment events or travel accommodations. |
