Chapter 26 Vocab

TermDefinition
Monarchy A single ruler, such as a king who holds all of the power.
Oligarchy One of the several people rule a country or country or empire together; sharing power.
Tyranny The ruling power is in the hands of one person who is not a lawful king. A person who seizes power illegally.
Democracy All citizens who share power.
Aristocrat Wealthy, strong, and powerful.
Citizen A member of a democracy, who has certain rights and responsibilities.
Assembly A group of people that gather together to discuss a subject or pass laws in a Greek Democracy.
