Region

QuestionAnswer
Functional Region Areas that are linked together to function as a unit.
Perceptual Region Areas based on human thoughts and feelings; often identified by a nickname.
Formal Region An area with one or more common characteristics that separate it from another.
Physical Characteristics Mountains, coastlines, and plains, which make up a natural region.
Human Characteristics Political, economic, agricultural, industrial, and cultural regions created by humans.
Boundaries A real or imaginary line that separates two things.
Fuzzy Boundaries A boundary that is treated as band of uncertainty.
Defined Boundaries A boundary that is treated as band of certainty.
Unifying Make or become united, uniform, or whole.
