What did the British think of the New World? At first the englishmen thought america was a place of piracy and harassment for the Spanish. Then they thought it would be a good place for poor to work and have more fertile land.
How many parliaments did they try to make before Jamestown? They tried to make 2 other parliaments before Jamestown which were called Roanoke and Newfoundland.
When was Jamestown started and what was the cost? In 1607 the English started a parliament known as Jamestown in Virginia. The cost is that people had a fifty-fifty chance to survive for five years.
What were the reasons why Jamestown was a bad place to live and what did they have to eat? Jamestown suffered from a disease. Plus, they also had conflicts with the Indians and their leader was called Powhatan. The English had suffered from starving. They tried to steal from the Indians, but Powhatan cut of all food supplies.
Who saved the citizens from starving? John Smith laid down the law and told them to work for food or starve.
What happened to Smith and who saved him from execution? Smith served as president of Jamestown and traded with the Indians for food. He was the president from 1608 to 1609 which he had to quiet science a gunpowder incident.In Smith’s book it told about the famous execution, but Pocahontas saved him.
Who introduced tobacco and married and why? John Rolfe introduced tobacco and married Pocahontas to end the fighting.
