What did president John Smith require all colonists to do? John Smith required all citizens to work and trade with the Algonquins.
Who was Powhatan? Powhatan was president John Smith's vassal or servant. She is also the mother of Pocahontas
Who was Pocahontas? She was the daughter of Powhatan and saved president John smith from execution.
Who was John smith? He was a president and he almost got executed.
What was a problem with the James Fort? Did not go far upstream to get away from salt water, and many diseases carrying mosquitoes.
What are three uses for the new world? market use,location to send poor,and abundant resources
What was Great Britain's 1st failed attempt? To set up permanent colonies in Roanoke.
What did the English focus on? The English focused on precious metals and spent little time farming.
Who discovered the cash crop? John Rolfe
What happened to Jamestown during the Starving time? Bad relations with Algonquians, low food supply, and resort to Cannibalism
