| Compass | This is a directional indicator, which means that it shows direction |
| Natural Environment | This includes everything that is living and not living that occurs naturally |

| Movement | This is when people, goods, ideas and physical forces change location |
| Latitude | These imaginary lines run from east to west and are always parallel to each other. They measure distance north and south of the equator. They are called parallels |
| Longitude | These imaginary lines measure distance east or west of the Prime Meridian and are called meridians |
| Equator | This is the imaginary line that circles the globe halfway between the North and the South. It is 0 degrees latitude. |
| Prime Meridian | This is the imaginary line that represents 0 degrees longitude and runs through Greenwich, England |
| Relative Location | This is a place in relation to something else |
| Absolute Location | Exact location that uses either longitude and latitude or an exact address |
| Region | Describes an area with unifying characteristics |
| Scale | This is used to measure distance on a map |
